Yelmora and Thicosi Mathisarus

Yelmora Mathisarus was born in large village called Alkettle, he lived quietly with his parents in a small hut near the center of town. Two years later, his brother Thicosi Mathisarus was born. Their family owned two cattle and a pony named Strider that the boys would often play with. One day, when they boys were 8 and 6 years old, their parents took the cattle to the marketplace to sell. Several days passed, and eventually they realized their parents would not be returning. A few months passed, and the city elders repossessed their house and attempted to place them in a foster home. The boys refused to cooperate and took with them Strider and their remaining possessions. Hiding out in a nearby forest, Yelmora constructed a very crude hut with mud, sticks and Colocasia esculenta leaves. Over the next few years, Yelmora and Thicosi survived by stealing food from the village’s marketplace and drinking water from a stream that flowed near their hut. With their lifestyle, they became very agile and learned how to navigate landscape. By the time they were 11 and 9, a new form of government rose up in their city. A band of soldiers from a group called the NWO, had moved into the village and quickly overtaken it with their "Arms of Fire", magical pieces of steel or iron that could kill someone instantly when pointed at them. The boys quickly learned to avoid this group when they would make their monthly trips into the city to steal provisions.

A few years later, Yelmora, now 16, snuck into the village and ducked around a corner. In his peripheral vision, he saw Thicosi, now 14, scale a wall and jump from rooftop to rooftop, towards the marketplace. They had taken this route last month, but all the NWO soldiers were positioned at their other places of entry. Slowly, Yelmora ducked around a collection of barrels and made his way towards the edge of the marketplace. He looked to his left to see a food-stand bearing fruit. He looked to his right; there was an NWO Officer positioned to guard the marketplace, facing the other way. He shot out, grabbing a basket of fruit. The owner of the stall began yelling, and the officer turned around and pointed his magic fire arm at him and shot off 3 rounds. The last shot just barely missing, Yelmora rolled behind a building and made his way towards the outskirts of town. He arrived at a sewer gate, which was the only other entrance through the city walls, and the brothers confirmed rendezvous point. He looked around; Thicosi was nowhere to be found. Thicosi was ALWAYS there first. Yelmora panicked, dropping the fruit and heading back to the marketplace. Halfway back to the marketplace, Yelmora noticed a group of NWO dragging off a struggling prisoner. Yelmora turned pale; Thicosi was kicking and cursing the soldiers as they dragged him off. Quickly hiding behind an abandoned cart, Yelmora began tailing behind the officers. He followed them to a curious looking building, and outside guarding it was a man in armor, but his helmet was removed. He had a shield strapped to his back and a sword in a sheath, but instead he wielded one of the magic fire arms. Yelmora cursed under his breath, and then noticed a rather decent sized rock under his own foot. He picked it up and thought to himself, that only a headshot could incapacitate the man. The guard turned around to inspect a noise coming from the building. Seeing his opportunity, Yelmora threw the rock and it collided with the man’s skull, who fell to the ground. Confiscating the man’s sword and shield, he thought about how lucky he was that the man hadn't been wearing a helmet. He picked up the fire arm, but couldn't figure out how to work it so he tossed it into a corner with the man’s body. He looked through the window; one man was holding Thicosi back while the other was beating him with his fire arm. Yelmora backed up and shield bashed through the window. The man beating his brother quickly spun around, and began to fire shots at him. The shots pinged off his shield, trailing sparks behind him. Thicosi took advantage of this moment, while the NWO holding him was distracted he wrestled free, and stole the man’s sword. The man drew his fire arm and aimed it at Thicosi, but was too late. Blood splattered across the floor, followed by screams of pain. The man fell backwards, his hands and forearms now separated from his body. Thicosi took the blade to the man’s throat, and he fell to the ground dead. The NWO shooting at Yelmora spun around, aimed his weapon and Thicosi's head and fired. Nothing happened, suddenly the man let out a terrible yell. A sword stuck out of the man’s chest, covered in his blood. Yelmora twisted the blade inside the mans torso, and whispered in his ear, "Run out of your magic, have you?", he unsheathed his sword from the mans back and kicked him to the floor. He looked around to make sure no other guards were there, and then they raided the compound.

Thicosi emerged from the building, having taken all the arrows the NWO had confiscated from the villagers, and a full set of leather armor. Yelmora exited the building and into the street, the sun shining off of his chainmail and various armor. They walked back into the Marketplace, paying for all the food they stole over the years with the "tax money" they had found in the NWO compound. Suddenly, they heard the clashing of swords. They ran out to the village entrance, where a group of soldiers garbed in green and black, were picking off the remainder of the NWO soldiers in a devastating raid. Suddenly, Yelmora felt a huge force hit him in the chest, and he flew backwards. Broadsided in the torso, a man in black and green stood over him, his pauldrons and mail shone in the sunlight. He held the tip of his blade at Yelmora's throat. Thicosi nocked an arrow, but as quickly as he had drawn the arrow six archers had point-blank range on him, and he froze. The man leaned closer, and said, "Are you with the NWO?" Yelmora laughed, "Nay, matter of fact we've just slain about four of them". The man signaled for the archers to lay back, and Thicosi put the arrow back in his quiver. The man had long brown hair, and was obviously in charge of the group of rebels. "Ave, Any who oppose the NWO and fight for peace, are welcome in our ranks. We're on our way to an NWO outpost. We confiscated a map to its location during a raid on a small group of their soldiers". Thicosi walked forward, "We would be honored to fight alongside you and help defeat the tyranny that is the New World Order". The man smiled, "I am Tiberius Eaghra, you look like skilled fighters. Once we make the attack, the day shall forever be remembered in Alterra as Ludi Primae Lucis".
